Founded in 2008 by Robert Dix, Sopal  is one of Ireland’s leading boutique corporate advisors. Over the past 15 years we have provided expert independent advice to public, private and government owned companies and organisations across a variety of complex Irish and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, disposals, debt advisory and strategic advisory projects

Our clients have included Actavo, Allianz, Bank of Ireland, Blackstone, Centre Parcs, Dalata Hotel Group plc, Glenveagh Properties plc, Grafton group Quinn International,  Western Union and many others.

Working in Less Regulated Regions and Economies

Sopal has significant experience in operating in India, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia, and has built up a substantial network worldwide.

It is critical to have robust plans in place to deal with numerous risks, inherent in working in unknown or less, regulated regions and economies.

Dealing with courts, lawyers and local oligarchs can be very difficult and requires experience skills and knowledge to be successful in this arena. It is absolutely crucial to get trusted local advisors and Sopal has built up this network over many years of operating in these regions.

Our clients include Quinn International property since 2011. Sopal are currently hands-on in realising assets to return substantial funds to the Irish taxpayer via IBRC.

Conflict Resolutions

There are times in business with a resolution to any conflict or disagreement over future strategy reaches a stalemate and has no line of sight to an acceptable outcome.

Sopal can act as a mediator and/or act on your behalf to find that way forward and negotiate, a desired deal/outcome.

Conflict resolution demands hard-fought anchoring of positions, and delicate management at the same time. This is an area of expertise where experience really does count…

Restructuring

Sopal has extensive cross-sectional knowledge and experience in financial and organisational restructuring.

A fresh pair of eyes looking over established business practices will bring new insights opportunities and strategic options.

Sopal has engaged previously in large scale, complex transactions (in Ireland and internationally) where multiple parties are involved with different outcome desires.

Sopal  can advise on and manage complex transactions to ensure the desired outcome is achieved on time and on budget.
